Good News for Rail Travelers | Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Sleeper Train to Start Running in Jan 2025

 There's good news for rail passengers, The nation's first Vande Bharat Sleeper train, which will link New Delhi and Srinagar, is scheduled to be launched by Indian Railways. This semi-high-speed train, which will operate on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), would provide passengers with contemporary conveniences and an improved travel experience.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper train is designed for overnight and long-distance travel and is manufactured by BEML. In September 2024, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled the train's prototype.

Delhi to Srinagar Vande Bharat Train: Launch Date

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is predicted to introduce the eagerly awaited Vande Bharat Sleeper train service from New Delhi to Srinagar in January 2025, according to a PTI report. Soon after, commercial services are expected to start.

Route, Distance, and Travel Time

In less than 13 hours, the Vande Bharat Sleeper train will travel over 800 kilometers between New Delhi and Srinagar. With this service, New Delhi and the Kashmir Valley would have direct train connectivity for the first time.

Train Composition and Ticket Price

The Delhi-Srinagar-New Delhi Vande Bharat Sleeper train would have a number of coaches, including four AC 2-tier coaches, eleven AC 3-tier coaches, and one First AC coach, according to ET Now.

The anticipated range of ticket pricing for this service is Rs 2000 for Air Conditioning 3-tier (3A), Rs 2500 for Air Conditioning 2-tier (2A), and Rs 3000 for Air Conditioning 1A (First AC).

Timings and Stops

The Vande Bharat Sleeper train between New Delhi and Srinagar is scheduled to leave New Delhi at 19:00 and arrive in Srinagar at 8:00 the following day. Ambala Cantt Junction, Ludhiana Junction, Kathua, Jammu Tawi, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Sangaldan, and Banihal are some of the important stops the train will make along the way.
